Style Tips For "The Luxe Traveller"

This week at B+T HQ, we had a chit-chat with seasoned flyer, traveller, and Creative Director & Founder, Rayna, who shared with us her tried and true tips on all things travel, style, and on how to embody “The Luxe Traveller”.

Q: What do you look for in travelling pieces - both on the plane and at the airport?

A: I try to do both comfort and style. I often have to get off an international flight and go to a meeting so I try to wear separates that are comfortable on the plane but I still look and feel "put together" when I arrive.

I’m actually flying out later today from Melbourne to London via Singapore, wearing signature B+T! I’ve got on The Jetsetter Pants (not to be cliché) in black and the Georgie Asymmetric Top. When flying I’m always looking for pieces with a relaxed fit, and made from breathable fibres for a comfortable trip.

Q: You’re taking the red eye from Tullamarine to the LAX.. What’re you wearing when you board?

A: Generally I’m opting for blacks and neutrals, made from something soft and breathable like linens and cottons.

If it’s a long haul flight I’m always bringing something like loungewear and comfortable to sleep in, as well as a fresh shirt and pants to change into before landing.

I'll always take a change of shoes if I'm travelling from a cold climate to a hot one like I'm doing today.

I have a black ankle boot on now and will change to a black slip on sandal when I arrive in London. In my arsenal of shoes I always make sure I have a classic black heel, a pair of white sneakers, a couple pairs of sandals, and my runners for those days on-the-go.

Q: Any other flying bonus tips you’ve picked up as a seasoned flyer?

A: I always get a wash and blow dry the morning of my flight. I also love to pack a hydrating sheet or eye mask to pop on an hour before landing, as well as a nourishing face oil to beat any dehydration after a long haul.

Also.. I always keep accessories to a minimum to avoid having to take them on and off to get through airport security.. even so, I always somehow manage to set them off!
